With 7 key markets across EMEA all taking an ad hoc approach to Windows Mobile promotions, KLP was briefed to develop promotional guidelines that could be scaled up for worldwide distribution.
A centralised online solution was proposed as an alternative to printed guidelines. The online version offered the following advantages:
- quick and easy updates (no additional print costs)
- enhanced content, eg 3D in-store experience
- additional functionality, eg personalised promotional calendar
- instant, low-cost and unlimited distribution via email
Key features and functionality included:
- password protection to ensure authorised access only
- a 3D in-store flythrough to inspire Product Managers and demonstrate how Windows Mobile branding could be implemented in new and original ways
- online calendar to help plan forthcoming promotions
- simple content management system
- case studies illustrating best practice
- 'Superuser' account providing overall visibility of promotional plans within each market - therefore driving consistency

As the project manager, my responsibilities included:
- Scoping, budget and proposal development. Including creative idea generation and brainstorming.
- Information architecture and specification.
- Day-to-day liason with client including managing expectations.
- Documentation - creative brief, specifications & flow diagrams.
- Managing activities of developers and designers to ensure work was 'on brief'.
- Coordinating content development.
- Monitoring progress against timeline.
- Reporting in to client.
